About Nashville Adventures

Why Nashville Adventures Exists

Paul Whitten leading a guided walking tour in downtown Nashville

Nashville Adventures was founded in September 2023 by Paul Whitten, a U.S. Army veteran and historian, after an injury during a deployment in Afghanistan changed the trajectory of his life. During recovery, Paul began volunteering as a historical tour guide at the Patton Museum at Fort Knox, where he rediscovered how powerful public storytelling can be when history is delivered by someone who genuinely cares about the stories being told.

Years later, after moving to Nashville, he saw a tourism industry dominated by party buses and surface level experiences. He believed the city deserved something better.

Nashville Adventures was created to offer historically accurate, locally rooted tours that respect the city, its history, and the people who live here. The company launched with just $3,600 and no outside funding. Today, Nashville Adventures serves thousands of guests each year while donating 1 percent of revenue to veteran related causes and supporting local initiatives. The goal was never simply to run tours. The goal was to build a storytelling company rooted in service, responsibility, and respect for Nashville’s history.

Meet the Team

Proudly Veteran Owned and Staffed

Y'all, being a veteran-owned company isn't just about having a title; it's like wearing a proud badge of honor that shines brightly for all to see. It's about carrying a legacy of dedication, discipline, and a strong commitment to serving others that runs deep in our veins. This distinction isn't merely a label; it's a powerful testimony to the values we've embraced through the trials and triumphs of military life—values like integrity, teamwork, and an unyielding grit that refuses to back down in the face of challenges.

Our journey through the military has taught us the true meaning of sacrifice. We understand what it means to put others before ourselves, to stay steadfast in our mission, and to work closely with our comrades to achieve a common goal. This deep sense of duty and responsibility extends beyond the battlefield; it's woven into the very fabric of our company, guiding how we interact with our customers and how we support our dedicated employees.

This rich heritage adds a unique flavor to our company culture, molding our approach to business and influencing our decision-making processes. It pushes us to maintain the highest standards of quality and excellence in everything we tackle, from customer service to product development. Our military background drives us to be resilient, to adapt quickly to new challenges, and to always look for ways to improve and grow.

In essence, being a veteran-owned business is a reflection of our journey, our struggles, and our victories. It's a constant reminder of where we've come from and the values we stand for. It inspires us to lead by example, to build a team that embodies the spirit of service, and to create a company that not only achieves success but also makes a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
